PracticalKit is a desktop application that runs locally on your computer. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how the Software handles your data.

Data Collection​

What We Do NOT Collect​

  • Your files: PracticalKit processes files locally on your computer. Your files are never uploaded to our servers.
  • Your API keys: API keys are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us.
  • Usage analytics: We do not collect usage data, analytics, or telemetry.
  • Personal information: We do not collect names, emails, or other personal identifiers through the Software.

What the Software Does​

  • Local processing: The Software reads and writes files on your local filesystem based on your instructions.
  • Third-party API calls: When you use AI features, the Software sends requests directly from your computer to third-party AI services (such as OpenAI) using your API keys.

Third-Party Services​

When you use AI features, your prompts and file contents may be sent to third-party AI providers. These transmissions:

  • Go directly from your computer to the third-party service
  • Are governed by that service's privacy policy and terms
  • Are your responsibility to manage

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any AI services you connect to, such as:

Local Data Storage​

PracticalKit stores configuration and application data locally on your computer:

  • Settings: Application preferences and configuration
  • API keys: Encrypted and stored locally
  • Conversation history: Stored locally in the application

This data remains on your computer and is not transmitted to us.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE MAKE NO GUARANTEES ABOUT THE SECURITY OR PRIVACY OF DATA PROCESSED BY THE SOFTWARE OR TRANSMITTED TO THIRD-PARTY SERVICES.

Data Security​

While we design the Software with security in mind:

  • You are responsible for the security of your computer and files
  • You are responsible for the security of your API keys
  • We cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted to third-party services

Children's Privacy​

PracticalKit is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy​

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.

Your Rights​

Since we do not collect your data, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. Your files and data remain under your control on your local computer.
